The Kilkee Cliff Walk follows a rugged stretch of coastline, with routes of approximately 5km or a longer 8km loop for those seeking a more challenging walk. Starting near Kilkee’s West End, the route takes in highlights such as Intrinsic Bay, Foonagh Bay, and sweeping views from Moveen Hill, making it one of the best coastal walks in Clare for visitors of all abilities.
The Pollock Holes
The Pollock Holes in Kilkee are natural Atlantic sea pools and a popular location for swimming and snorkelling along the Wild Atlantic Way. Sheltered and refreshing, they provide a unique way to enjoy the sea in a striking coastal setting.
Located at Duggerna Reef on Kilkee’s West End, the pools can be accessed from the car park beside the Diamond Rocks Café. At low tide, visitors can walk across the flagstones to reach a series of clear-water pools of varying sizes and depths. The name comes from the small pollock fish that inhabit the area during certain times of the year. Visitors are advised to check tide times in advance and take care on wet rock surfaces.
