Have you ever wondered what it was like to breathe underwater? Or seen scuba divers and thought that you would like to give that a go? Well, with the Try Scuba you can. The Try Scuba is conducted in the Water World Swimming Pool. During the session there will be a briefing where you will be introduced to the gear used in scuba diving and how it works, as well as some of the other basics that you will need for your time in the pool. Then we will hop and see what it’s all about.

During the Try Scuba experience you will learn the essential basics required for scuba diving under the supervision of a fully qualified professional. Over the course of the experience, you will have an opportunity to see what it’s like to breathe underwater and whether it is something that you enjoy. During your time in the pool, you will:

  • Learn what the equipment feels like and how to move efficiently underwater with it on
  • Learn some of the fundamental skills related to scuba diving as well as some of the rules that are important and will be useful for the full open water diver course, should you choose to proceed.
  • See how happy you are underwater and determine whether it is something that you would like to continue you with!

Attendee Instructions

The Discover Scuba Experience provides all the necessary equipment, including a mask, scuba tank, and breathing regulator.

  • Minimum Age: This experience is available for those aged 10 and over.
  • Course Duration: Please arrive at your designated start time, the whole experience should take an hour including changing time.
  • What to bring: Swimming costume and towel
  • Medical: Please read the attached medical before you book. If you answer yes to questions 3, 5, or 10 or any of the questions on page 2, you will need to see your doctor before starting the waterwork.

The weather in Ireland in August was unseasonably cold and windy during our visit. This water park have our 2 year old a wonderful fun filled afternoon when the beach was not an option. There is one very fun water slide that she was able to ride with an adult. The wave pool was also a great time for her. The water was a good temperature. One of the best things about this place is that while you're in inside Waterworld, you can look outside the huge glass windows and see the beach.
